Privacy Policy — Monthkeep

Monthkeep does not collect your data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no trackers, no bank connections, and no servers. Everything you enter stays on your device.

What the app stores

Monthkeep saves the following on your device only:

Entries you add — amount, description, category, and date
Repeating commitments — label, amount, how often they repeat, and which day
The account balance figure you enter yourself
Books you create, and which one is currently open
Preferences, such as whether the setup questions have been completed

This information is held in a database inside the app's private storage on your iPhone or iPad. It is not transmitted anywhere. The developer cannot see it.

No bank connection

Monthkeep never connects to a bank, card, or financial institution. It has no ability to read your accounts or transactions. The balance it works from is a number you type in yourself, and everything the app projects is calculated from what you have entered by hand.

What the app does not do

No account creation and no sign-in
No network requests of any kind — the app has no server component
No analytics, crash reporting, or usage measurement
No advertising and no advertising identifiers
No tracking across apps or websites
No location, contacts, calendar, camera, photo, microphone, or health data access

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Monthkeep schedules reminders locally on your device when an upcoming payment looks like it will not clear. These are local notifications only. There is no push server, no device token is registered, and nothing about your finances leaves the device in order to produce them.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device. Because nothing is uploaded, there is no copy elsewhere for anyone to delete.

Backups

If you have iCloud or iTunes device backups enabled, your device backup may include Monthkeep's data, the same as any other app. That backup is controlled by Apple and your Apple Account settings, not by this app.

Children

Monthkeep is a personal budgeting tool with no accounts and no data collection. It is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. Since the app collects no data, any change is likely to be a clarification rather than a change in practice.
