Privacy Policy — Nosce

Last updated: 13 August 2026

Nosce does not collect, transmit, or have access to any of your data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no trackers, and no servers. Everything you log — cycle days, symptoms, skin and hair notes, medications, movement, and photos — stays on your device.

What the app stores

Nosce saves the following on your device only, using Apple's on-device storage:

This information is held in the app's private storage on your iPhone. It is not transmitted anywhere, and the developer cannot see it.

What the app does not do

Apple Health

If you choose to import cycle data from Apple Health, Nosce requests read-only access to menstrual flow data. Nosce never writes anything back to Health, and never requests access to any other Health data type. Data read from Health is stored the same way as data you log directly — on your device only.

Photos

Photos you add to the skin and hair timeline are stored as files on your device, excluded from iCloud backup, and stripped of EXIF metadata (including location data) before being saved.

Encrypted backup

Nosce can create an encrypted backup file containing your data, protected by a passphrase you choose. This file is encrypted on your device before it is created. Nosce has no way to decrypt it and cannot recover a forgotten passphrase — the backup file, and the passphrase to open it, are entirely in your control.

Files you export

The doctor report (PDF) and CSV export are created on your device and handed to the iOS share sheet. Where they go next is your choice — email, Files, AirDrop, or another app. Once a file leaves Nosce, the receiving app's own terms apply.

Deleting your data

Because nothing is uploaded, there is no copy elsewhere for anyone to delete. There is no account to close and no server-side copy to request the deletion of.

Backups

If you have iCloud or iTunes device backups enabled, your device backup may include Nosce's data, the same as any other app (photos are excluded, as noted above). That backup is controlled by Apple and your Apple Account settings, not by this app.

Not a medical device

Nosce is a private tracking tool. It does not diagnose, does not offer contraceptive-grade fertility prediction, and any exercise guidance shown is general and not personalized. It is not a substitute for advice from a clinician.

Children

Nosce has no accounts and collects nothing from anyone. It is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. Since the app collects no data, any change is likely to be a clarification rather than a change in practice.
